Your Privacy Choices

You are in control of your data.

Save Ingredient ListsKeep your scanned lists, pantry, and past decisions on this device for next time. When off, new lists are not kept after you close the tab.
Delete Photos After ProcessingAlwaysPhotos are processed in memory and never written to our servers' storage, so there is nothing left to delete.
Not Used for TrainingWe never train AI models on your photos or data. OpenAI also states it does not train its models on data sent through its API by default.
Privacy ExplainerBefore your first scan we explain how your photos are handled. Once you continue past it, we remember that on this device and never block your scans with it again.
We Do Not Sell Your DataWe do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security to protect your information.

Encrypted in TransitAll data is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS) between your browser and our servers.
Secure Cloud HostingCook AI is hosted on Vercel. Your lists are not in the cloud at all — they stay in your browser.
Minimal Data StorageWe keep only what the app needs. On our servers, the records are a rate-limit counter tied to your IP address and the first-party /api/cook-events event log. That log contains no IP address, sets no cookie, and excludes photo, ingredient, and dish content; it does carry a random session ID kept only in sessionStorage so events from one visit can be counted together. Aggregated traffic analytics come from Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics.
No Central Database of YouCook AI has no sign-up and no user database. Because your data lives on your device, there is no central store of your personal information.
Your Controls Come FirstYou can view, export, and erase everything Cook AI keeps on this device at any time — no request forms, no waiting.

Common questions about your privacy and data.

Do you store my photos?

No. Your photo is processed in memory and sent to OpenAI to identify ingredients and generate meal recommendations; we never save it to storage. A small preview may remain in this browser tab until you close it, and you can clear it in Manage My Data above.

Do you use my data to train AI models?

No. We do not train any AI model on your photos, lists, or personal data. Recognition runs on OpenAI's API, and OpenAI states it does not train its models on API data by default.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

What data is saved in my account?

There is no account. On this device only: your pantry list, saved decisions, profile and preferences, recipe ratings, and shopping check marks — see the full list in Manage My Data. On our servers we keep IP-based rate-limit counters and first-party cook-event logs (no IP address, no cookie, and no photo, ingredient, or dish content; events carry a random session ID kept only in sessionStorage), plus aggregated traffic analytics from Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Use Manage My Data above to delete single categories or everything at once. Clearing your browser's site data removes it too.

Is my payment information safe?

Cook AI has no payments or checkout and never asks for card details, so there is no payment information to store.

What you type or scan

Ingredient lists, meal slot, servings, speed/constraints, and optional fridge or pantry photos are sent to our servers when you run a cook decision, so we can return one dish, a buy list, and cooking steps.

AI processing (OpenAI)

When an API key is configured, that inventory and photo context is sent to OpenAI to generate the recommendation JSON. Do not upload photos or notes that contain passwords, payment cards, or other highly sensitive personal data.

Rate limits and IP address

We may use your IP address to enforce a daily demo quota for AI decision attempts (including when the model returns a bad format). When the daily count is used up, try again tomorrow.

What stays in your browser

Profile preferences, last recommendation, cook habit history for “Today’s recommend”, and similar Cook state are stored in this browser’s localStorage (or session fields) only. Clearing site data removes them. We do not sync these to an account today.

个人偏好、最近推荐、用于「今日推荐」的烹饪习惯记录等 Cook 状态仅保存在本机 localStorage（或会话字段）。清除站点数据即删除。目前不会同步到账号。
